I'll dominate 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
